Solar Site Planning
Prepare accurate site drawings and documentation for your solar project in the UAE. Our guide covers DEWA Shams Dubai requirements, authority submission checklists, and planning tools used by approved UAE contractors.
Solar Design Tools
Industry-standard platforms used for UAE PV layout, yield simulation, and DEWA submission drawings.
SolarEdge Designer
Create professional PV layouts, simulate energy production, and optimise system performance. Used by approved installers for DEWA Shams Dubai submissions.
Launch ToolPVsyst
Industry-standard PV system simulation for UAE and GCC solar projects. Used for yield modelling, shading analysis, and performance ratio calculations.
Launch ToolGoogle Earth Pro
High-resolution satellite imagery for initial site mapping, plot boundary identification, and shadow analysis for UAE rooftop and ground-mount projects.

Layout (DEWA)
DEWA Shams Dubai requires an approved site plan showing module placement, cable routes, and equipment locations. The layout must be signed by the approved contractor and submitted through the DEWA portal.
- Show modules in portrait or landscape orientation with dimensions.
- Indicate fire access setbacks per the approved fire strategy and Dubai Civil Defence requirements.
- Mark module type, quantity, and rated wattage on the drawing.
- Show string configuration, DC cable route, and inverter location.
- Indicate AC cable route to the main distribution board (MDB).
- Mark generation meter and AC isolator positions.

Ground-Mounted
Array Planning
Ground-mount systems in the UAE require plot boundary setbacks, inter-row spacing for maintenance access, and structural information for foundation design approval.
- Orient rows to maximise annual yield for the site latitude and azimuth.
- Show inter-row spacing to prevent self-shading — determined by tilt angle and latitude.
- Indicate plot boundary setbacks per local authority requirements.
- Mark underground services (water, drainage, electrical) to avoid conflicts.
- Specify soil type and ground condition notes for foundation design.
- Show cable trench route from array to main distribution board (MDB).

Containerized &
Off-Grid Power Design
For remote UAE or Africa sites with no grid access, Harutto Solar engineers self-contained power units: solar canopy, battery storage, and backup generator in a secured enclosure.
- Solar canopy or carport structure mounted over the equipment container.
- Integrated inverter, AC distribution board, and backup generator for 24/7 autonomy.
- Perimeter security fencing and lightning protection as standard.
- Fully modular and relocatable for remote industrial, agricultural, or construction sites.
